This week in the saga

The chronicle opens on June 16th, 2015, as the golden escalator carries DONARUDO down into the atrium of his own tower and he declares before the faceless lens-eyes of THE PRESS that he seeks the highest seat in the land. He names the sickness — a crisis of incompetent leadership, an unguarded southern border — and the realm answers him with laughter. By week's end the papers of candidacy are filed, and the laughter has not yet learned what it is laughing at.
