This week in the saga

The volume ends in an ordinary week. Tuesday two foreign leaders come through the room in a single afternoon and the meetings go very well; the same day, the old grievance is filed again — it was a rigged election, and we must never forget. A senator is asked to adopt a budget resolution before the August recess, because that is now the only door the election act can come through. Wednesday the record is re-argued back to the plague years. And on Wednesday night, the last full sentence of the volume: the Court, he writes, has cost the country trillions and trillions of dollars. The sea opened when he said so. That did not.
