This week in the saga

A weekend of fire: a bomb in a Chelsea street, devices found in New Jersey, a knife in a Minnesota mall. He sends condolences at dawn, then turns the smoke into indictment — the system let the attacker through, the officers who ran toward the blast are the realm's true shield, and under the old order there have been more attacks at home than victories abroad.
