This week in the saga
A column of the desperate moves north and the king names new enemies — a river of migrants at the wall, a river of parcels in the mails. He turns on the everything-store: little tax paid, the post office made its delivery boy, thousands of retailers driven under. To the base he swears the Second Amendment will never be repealed, no matter what the other side wishes. The caravan becomes a siege in his telling, the agents' hands tied by weak laws and the wall the only answer. And word comes through the Chinese leader that the hermit king went well and looks forward to their meeting — the summit holds. It is the last calm week; next comes the raid.
