This week in the saga

Volume Three opens the morning after the FBI raid on the king's private fixer. He wakes to fury and reaches for the one weapon left to him — the phone — christening the war that will define the rest of the saga: a total witch hunt. He turns on the fired lawman he blames for everything, a proven leaker and liar. Half a world away a chemical attack draws his answer, and he warns the great northern power directly that the missiles are coming, nice and new and smart; the strike lands and he calls it perfect, mission accomplished. And through all the smoke the numbers only climb — fifty percent, higher than the man before him. The walls are breached, and still he rises.
