物語
This week in the saga
Independence Day frames the week: fireworks over the capital, the economy roaring, the king pausing to call his country great before reaching for the prize he has waited for. Under ceremonial lights he presents his nominee for the highest court — his honor and privilege. He rounds on Congress over the border, demanding in capital letters that the immigration laws he calls insane be fixed now, and sharpens the midterm argument into a warning that a vote for the other side lets the gangs pour in. The nominee climbs toward the bench, the true prize of the era — and far to the north, the lonely stage still waits.
