物語
This week in the saga
The closing enemy of the campaign appears: a great caravan marching north, and he answers with a hard line — cross illegally and be arrested, detained, sent back. He reaches for the purse as a weapon, warning a Central American nation that its aid will be cut if the column is not turned back, and compresses the whole midterm into a slogan pitting work against chaos. Every caravan on the news, he tells his people, is a reason to blame the other side and remember the midterms. As the column nears he raises the alarm to its highest pitch, claiming criminals and unknown outsiders are mixed into the marching thousands. The caravan has become the whole argument.
