This week in the saga
He flies to the far East for a second summit with the young warlord, met by tremendous crowds and, he says, so much love. The first night goes well — a warm dinner, good dialogue, talks to resume at dawn — but home is where the wound lands: his disgraced former lawyer testifies against him and is disbarred, and he dismisses it as the lies of a man buying a shorter sentence. With the collusion case collapsing, the hunters simply change their aim to his finances. The summit breaks with no deal, and he comes home to betrayal and a new hunt, insisting no agreement beats a bad one.
