物語
This week in the saga
The volume opens in a hot, petty summer: the king is at war with a city, and takes pleasure in its misfortunes. Then, in thirteen hours, two towns are shot to pieces, and the whole realm stops. He orders every flag in the realm lowered, and the colonnades fill with half-staff banners.
