This week in the saga
The chamber opens a formal inquiry into him at last, and his answer is the two words he has been sharpening for two years. From the hall of nations he does the thing nobody expects: he orders the call itself released, unredacted. He reads the page as an acquittal, and warns that if this call is wrong, no king can ever speak to another again. When the chamber's inquisitor performs a version of the call that was never spoken, he demands his resignation. And he turns the whole thing outward: they are not coming for him, they are coming for the people behind him.
