The audit finds billions and the judges start saying not like that. Tuesday morning the argument is put plainly: the fraud is real, the money is gone, and the courts want it paid anyway — DOGE caught them, the judge just doesn't care. On Wednesday two phone calls go out inside ninety minutes, one to Moscow and one to Kyiv, and the second is described almost as an afterthought of the first; a meeting is set for Friday in Munich that neither man is invited to. Then, on Saturday afternoon, thirteen words with nothing attached — no policy, no target, no name — that are the whole term compressed into a sentence and lifted from a dead emperor: he who saves his Country does not violate any Law. Nobody in the building is asked to comment. By Sunday he is back on the amendment that makes citizenship, explaining that the founders are spinning in their graves. The week's real content is the sentence, and everyone knows it.
