This week in the saga

Wednesday night the dead financier is established, at length, as a lifelong member of the other party. Thursday morning six lawmakers put out a video reminding the armed forces they may refuse an illegal order. At nine minutes past nine he calls it seditious behavior at the highest level and says every one of them should be arrested and put on trial. At twenty past ten he posts again, and this time it is five words long: seditious behavior, punishable by death. Saturday night they should be in jail right now rather than roaming the networks. Sunday he asks for the release of a woman in a Colorado prison. And Monday at half past five in the morning, quietly, he wonders whether real progress is being made toward peace, and tells nobody to believe it until they see it.
