This week in the saga

A quieter week on the surface — his rival tours her memoir of the lost war while he heckles from a dark armchair, a crude bomb smokes in a London tube carriage, sparks fly on the border fences, and the dreamers get an almost gentle word. Then Sunday: a phone call about the hermit kingdom becomes the taunt of the age. Rocket Man. By nightfall the nickname has circled the earth, and in two days he will say it again before all the assembled nations.
