This week in the saga
Deep in the siege he keeps the faith loud, leading the old chant and swearing he will not cave — without the Wall, none of it works. Then the doors open again with no Wall won, and he recasts the surrender not as defeat but as mercy, and a threat: twenty-one days, then war. Bruised but unbroken he turns his eyes forward as his party crowns him again, voting as one to carry his banner into the next great fight. The longest siege in the republic's history ends with the ground still bare — and the king, defiant to the last, swears the Wall will yet rise.
