This week in the saga
The arena is full, the lights come up, and the second campaign begins with the word YOU. He tells the arena that the rule he is breaking is the oldest one in the capital: he keeps his promises. Over the narrow water a machine of his is shot out of the sky, and the answer comes in six words. Cocked and loaded, ten minutes out, he asks how many will die — and calls the strike off over one answer. He closes the chapter the way he opened the campaign: one line, no clauses, no room to argue.
