




On the morning of the sixth he tells the realm the whole thing turns on one man's nerve. At one o'clock the crowd goes over the barricades and into the chamber. For three hours the saga's protagonist watches it on television and says nothing. At two he asks them to support the police, and to stay peaceful. And then, at half past two, the sentence that will be read out at every hearing afterwards. Two days later he says he will not be going to the inauguration. It is the last thing he ever posts here.
