This week in the saga

The loudest week since the ban, and almost all of it is arithmetic. Twelve publications leave the office in seven days and nine of them are counts of somebody's audience — a poll, a study finding his statements still travel as far as they did when he had an account, and four separate notes on the collapsing ratings of the networks that carried him. On the sixteenth he sits for an hour in somebody else's studio, and two days later the office publishes the ratings that hour earned. The last paper of the week, issued on Father's Day, recommends a golfer's book about his father.
