The cruellest week of the young return. Georgia votes, and the governor he campaigned hardest to bury survives by fifty points — a rout the next morning's arithmetic simply omits. Then a school in Texas, and nineteen children, and for a moment the record lowers its voice; three days later the Texas address is kept anyway and called leadership. Saturday brings the biggest crowd in Wyoming's history, deep in the huntress's home state, and the week ends at twenty to one in the morning with six words that have no enemy in them at all: a horrible time for our Country.
