This week in the saga

Tuesday morning he warns that without the termination of the filibuster the next elections will be rightfully brutal. Tuesday night they are. At five past ten the pollsters' verdict is quoted back at the feed with no comment attached, and at half past eleven, in four words, the shortest post of the winter: and so it begins. Wednesday is the anniversary of the greatest victory in history, celebrated the morning after losing everywhere at once. Sunday brings a new word for the record — autopen — attached to a thousand-word obituary of the last administration. And Monday the air traffic controllers are told to get back to work now, with a bonus for the patriots and a negative mark, at least in his mind, for everybody else.
