This week in the saga

Chapter 12 opens with fire on two fronts. From a New Jersey clubhouse he promises the hermit kingdom fire and fury, then locked-and-loaded launchers at dawn. And on Friday night, torches cross a Virginia college town: by Saturday a young woman is dead, and the king of the feed — never at a loss for words — reads a careful statement condemning hate on many sides. The country hears what he did not say. In three days, in his gold tower, he will say much more.
