This week in the saga
The victory lap begins: banners, soaring numbers, and a king who believes the long hunt is finally behind him. A familiar old rival steps onto the field at last, and is welcomed with a smile that carries a warning. The markets hit their highest mark ever, and in the same hour the whisper of impeachment starts up beneath them. The old order he never gave is dragged back into the light, and he denies it flatly: the counsel was never told to fire anyone. He tells them the report never laid a glove on him — and promises to fight if they ever dare bring the charge.
